The Britannia Mine Museum is a fascinating and fun attraction that offers historical and modern interactive exhibits and guided tours. Conveniently located on the Sea to Sky Highway half way between Vancouver and Whistler at Britannia Beach.

• Guests get to pan for real gold and journey into an authentic mine tunnel where they learn about historical mining practices and equipment.


• Museum exhibits explore Britannia's past and share the stories of the pioneers who lived and worked in this community, with intriguing archival images and mine artifacts.


• "The Mill" is both a BC Historic Landmark and National Historic Site. Visitors will thrill to the inner workings of this amazing industrial landmark.


• Modern exhibits in our new Visitor Centre celebrate the contribution of minerals to society and the ideas and practices of sustainability.


• Our captivating 15-minute film encapsulates the past and present of Britannia Mine and its diverse people.


• The Children's Discovery area encourages interactive play and exploration with engaging activities.

We support our travel trade partners with generous net rates, FAM tours and high res images. We accept vouchers for FIT travelers and Group tours. Complimentary General Admission is provided for the Tour Escort/Driver.

The majority of the guest experience is self-guided, with the exception of the underground tunnel tour, which is guided. These tours depart every 30 minutes in peak season. In some circumstances the underground tour can be modified or customized for groups.

If time is limited we recommend guests explore the self-guided exhibit areas, which include gold panning. There is so much to see and learn. Guests will be delighted and pleasantly surprised with our historical, modern and interactive displays, and feature film. The majority of exhibits, the Company Store and gold panning are wheelchair accessible.
