Since the classic McCabe & Mrs Miller in 1971, Britannia Beach has been the location for a large number of feature films and dozens of popular TV series. The stunning Mill 3 and underground tunnel at the Britannia Mine Museum have been the settings for mainly science fiction and horror genres. As the Museum is a non-profit organization with no core funding, the revenue gained from site rental to the film industry makes an important contribution to our operating costs.

The Britannia Mine Museum is proud to have the designation of being a National Historic Site. With this title comes the responsibility of offering a world-class experience and we pride ourselves at being able to offer this even when filming is occurring on site.
