The Museum is not a government institution. Provincial grants contribute approximately 10% of annual revenues. As a registered charity, the society is required to be self sufficient in its ability to earn revenues to maintain its operation. Revenues are generated through gift shop sales, admissions, donations and the sale of memberships.
The Britannia Mine Museum has successfully reinvented itself and is now aiming even higher with new improvements. The Museum offers a unique opportunity to become a partner in educating the public about the history, importance and potential of minerals and mining.
