BIKE TO WORK WEEK

Monday, May 27, 2013
Bike to the Museum for $5 off your admission

There are always lots of reasons to ride your bike instead of driving your car - it's cheaper, better for you, better for the environment. During Bike to Work Week, there is an extra reason, save on your Britannia Mine Museum admission.

Ride your bike to the Britannia Mine Museum between May 27th and June 2 and get $5 off your admission cost - plus a free bike ride.

Britannia Mine Museum is recognizing Bike to Work Week because, if it weren't for mines, we wouldn't even have bikes.

CANADA DAY AT BRITANNIA MINE MUSEUM

Monday, July 01, 2013
Flags available all day

Britannia Mine Museum is a National Historic Site because of the major role it played in the country's past. As the biggest copper mine in the British Commonwealth, Britannia was a big contributor to the economy.

On Canada day we will be giving away flags and pins. If you are proud to be in Canada - whether you live here or are travelling through - come to the Britannia Mine Museum to show it.

Free for members or with regular admission.

INTERNATIONAL COOPERATIVES DAY

Saturday, July 06, 2013
Snapshots from the Vault, 11am and 2pm

The general store at Britannia Beach was one of the first cooperatives in the province. This meant that the prices came down and the people who lived here were paid dividends each year.

Curator talks, showing photos from the archives, will happen in the theatre at 11am and 2pm.

Free for members or with regular admission.

COPPER & FIRE

Sunday, July 21, 2013
New date but the same great annual festival of art

Copper & Fire festival of art is on July 21st this year.

There will be a great line-up of artists showing their work and demonstrating their craft. Try hands-on activities while you are here and bring home some art of your own.

From 9am to 5pm. Free for members or with regular admission.
