What do you enjoy most about working at the Museum?

No two days are ever the same. Between our many events we offer, to exciting film crews, to everyday grind there is always something new to look forward to.

What makes it a special place to be a part of?

Working around history. Even though the mine closed 50 years ago, there is still an exciting pulse to the site.

Dana, Booking Coordinator

Working with the marketing team at Britannia Mine Museum has been a unique experience! Where else can you brainstorm social media campaigns while overlooking a 100-year-old mill building, or collaborate on event strategy in a historic mining site? The team here is incredibly supportive, and there's something special about helping share the stories of BC's mining heritage with visitors from around the world. Plus, the drive along the Sea-to-Sky highway to work isn't bad either! It'sdefinitely not your typical marketing job – in the best possible way.

Jennifer, Social Media and Digital Marketing Coordinator

What do you enjoy most about working at the museum?

Working side-by-side with a fantastic group of people, all with a shared interest in Britannia mining history and the experiences our guests have when they come to our site.

Deron Johnston, Director of Museum & Site Assets

What makes it a special place to be a part of?

I think what makes this job really special is the buildings and the history behind them. Especially the Mill no3.  Being able to narrate stories, interact with guests but also see how these budlings transform with special exhibits and events, is what makes this job really special for me.

Demy, Senior Historical Interpreter

How has your experience here helped you grow personally or professionally?

I started as an interpreter in 2022, and overtime joined the marketing team and now I continue to showcase the museum through digital storytelling, reaching the far corners of the world.

What makes it a special place to be a part of?

2025 marks 50 years to this place being a museum. I think working here makes me a part of that legacy and history and it is something that I’m really proud of.

Partesh, Social Media & Marketing Generalist
