Britannia offers visitors plenty of things to see and do. From the guided underground tour including BOOM! to self-led exploration of exhibits. The 10-acre site is itself an exhibit providing unique access to an important piece of Canadian history.
The Underground Tour

BOOM! A Multi-Sensory Experience
Discover a thrilling light, sound and special effects experience inside the historic Mill No 3. BOOM! brings all 20-storeys back to life, sharing the Mill's captivating story and its thunderous roar.
What's included with Admission?
Admission to the Britannia Mine Museum includes a 75 minute guided tour into the underground and Mill No.3 to watch the award-winning show BOOM!
After your guided tour allow time to explore and discover the wide variety of exhibits and activities including a site favorite gold panning!

With so much to see, you will want to allow 1.5 – 3 hours for your visit.

Tours run regularly throughout the day. Reservations are highly recommended. Bookings can be made online or by calling 1.800.896.4044
Same day bookings
Online bookings are available up to 12 hours prior to arrival time. For same day bookings please contact 604.896.2233 ext. 220 for up to date availability.

Doggy Daycare
To ensure the safety of all animals, visitors, and our employees, we only allow accredited guide and service dogs - as defined by the BC Government- to fully explore on-site with their handler. Dogs must be leashed with a short, non-retractable leash. Please note that there are loud noises in the underground and BOOM! show.
- Therapy and emotional support animals are not permitted under these guidelines.
- Upon arrival, BC residents must provide our Admissions team with their Guide Dog and Service Dog Certificate.
