Every rock has a story. Rocks tell us about the history of our planet, both distant and more recent. Rocks move through the rock cycle transforming from one type to another. Students will get hands-on with an assortment of rocks, allowing your group to discover some of their amazing properties and stories while playing a game.

What your students will see and do?

This program is delivered in our GeoLab. Students will spend the majority of their time exploring specimens on their own, with our program facilitator available to answer questions.

Note: This activity is designed to reinforce classroom learning about the rock cycle, including the definitions of metamorphic, igneous and sedimentary rock. If your class has not yet covered the rock cycle, we recommend booking the Mineral Detectives program instead.
